You know, Baby, some people despise nostalgia, but I don't really know what's wrong with periods or places that have happy personal associations. I'm fairly certain that it's responsible for our survival. Then again, I realize it's hard to not graft taste onto memory. They are, afterall, both temporary, and thus make perverse bedfellows. It's okay to be into weird stuff as long as you love it.

Baby, one day I'll take you to Sarasota, Florida. It's by far one of the strangest and most beautiful places I've ever been. You'll love it there, and it will love you.

Do you like this, Baby? It's an homage to Mr. and Mrs. Huxtable. When I was growing up, they were a relational icon.

Do you like this, Baby? I made it after your mother said that I don't make any art about her. I thought most everything I make is about her in one way or another, but whatever.

Baby, I originally titled this 'Ramblin' Trianglist' because it's a portrait of Hank Williams. Your uncle Tim always said that I should mix a bunch of painting styles up in each painting, so I thought making this for his marriage, to your aunt Cassia, would be appropriate.

Baby, I know you've seen that painting by Vincent Van Gogh titled 'Starry Night.' I don't know how you feel about it, but I think it's pretty average. However, I don't know if I think this because everyone and history loves it so much, or because it really just doesn't do much for me.
